This map is posted at major intersections on the course and can be downloaded below. To view the course elevation profiles in Google Earth, download and open "Hinton Nordic Centre.kmz" at bottom of page. In the "Places" pane on the left scroll to the bottom, the downloaded file will be in "Temporary Places" hit the + (plus) to expand sub-folders. Right Click the trail you wish to view, Select "Show Elevation Profile" and move the cursor onto the graph. Cool Eh?. Trails are colour coded by difficulty, black being the most difficult, blue is intermediate and green being the easiest. Dogs allowed area There has been a demand to increase the area where dogs are allowed. To satisfy this wish and hopefully reduce the grooming pressure on the K-9 loop the trails West of the Boogie trail will be opened up to dog use. Dogs will still only be allowed access to the trails from the upper parking lot but now be allowed on the following trails: K-9, Creekside, Connector and Marathon trails as well as the West end of the Snowy River and Windy Hill trails to access the Marathon trail. To accommodate this Creekside and Connector trails will become two way (Killer-5 and Marathon will remain one way). The Boogie, Lit Hill (S turn to the stadium) and all the trails and area around the lodge will remain as No Dogs Allowed. This will be monitored and if problems occur, re-assessed, so please direct any concerns to hintonnordicskiers@gmail.com and/or discuss on Facebook. Dogs Allowed Map The following map identifies (in green) which trails are now dog friendly. |
