Some important information for the Alberta Winter Games eligible athletes:

1. All potential athletes and all coaches must register on the web site no later than Dec 31.  You can do this tomorrow, so why put it off? This will expedite the formal registration process if the athlete qualifies for the games.  Attached are registration instructions
2. All potential athletes must sign the waiver and submit it to Richard Briand. The waiver that was provided is attached.
3. All potential athletes must also right a cheque (or pay in cash) for $40 made out to “Biathlon Alberta”.

If we can do all of these items by December 2 all that will be left to do is get the athletes to compete in the qualifier.  For our zone that is the January 7 race in Canmore.   If, for some reason, the January race is cancelled, then we will use the Dec 3 race as the qualifier.

 Biathlon Age Groups

Juvenile Boys and Girls: 11 and 12 years old (Year of birth: 1999‐2000)
- must compete in Air Rifle 2 category in qualifier

Junior Boys and Girls: 13 and 14 years old (Year of birth: 1997‐1998)
– must compete in Dev 2 Boys/Girls category in qualifier

Senior Boys and Girls: 15 and 16 years old (Year of birth: 1995‐1996)
– must compete in Senior Boys/Girls category in qualifier

 If we are late with the registration, we lose out on the $2000 grant that we have been approved for…so let’s not be late!

 Biathlon Alberta has put a call out for technical officials.  Anyone wanting to help out must contact Andy Holmwood directly (403.609.4746 or [andy@biathlon.ca]).  There is a travel allowance and you would be put up in a hotel in Stony Plain.
